What this is

Split3D is a tool that runs in your browser. It cuts a 3D model into pieces and builds the connectors that hold those pieces back together. Using the site means accepting the rules on this page. The full identification of the publisher is in the legal notice.

Accounts

You can cut a model without an account. An account exists so a subscription can be attached to it, and so the plan you are on follows you rather than one browser. Keep your password to yourself: anything done from your account is treated as done by you. One person, one account.

You can delete your account whenever you like, by writing to [email protected]. Deleting an account does not by itself cancel a subscription: do that first, from the billing portal.

What you load

You need the right to use every model you open here. A model you bought, made, or downloaded under a licence that allows it is fine; someone else's model that you are not allowed to use is not, and that is on you, not on us. Your models stay yours: opening one here gives us no rights over it, and we never see it in the first place.

Fair use of the service

Do not:

• work around the export allowance, the plan limits or the mark on free files;
• resell or rent access to the tool, or pass your account to someone else;
• hammer the service automatically, scrape it, or try to overload it;
• take it apart to rebuild it elsewhere, beyond what the law allows you to do anyway;
• use it for anything unlawful.

Plans and payment

The free plan needs no card. Paid plans are sold by Stripe, which acts as seller of record: the order, the invoice, the tax, the refunds and the right of withdrawal are governed by Stripe's own terms, shown to you before you pay. Cancel whenever you like from the billing portal, or from your Link account at link.com; you keep the plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not billed again.

What each plan allows you to do with the pieces you produce is set out on the licence page. Prices can change, but never for a period you have already paid for.

The mark on free files

Files exported on the free and starter plans carry a small Split3D engraving, and you choose where it goes before exporting. It is part of what those plans are. Removing it, or working around the step that places it, ends the permission to use those files.

What we promise, and what we do not

The tool is offered as it is. It runs on your machine, in your browser, on models we never see, so we cannot promise that every model cuts cleanly or that every printed part fits on the first try. Check the pieces before you print them, and keep your own copy of your original file. We do our best to keep the service up and to fix what breaks, without promising it is never unavailable. None of this takes away the rights the law gives a consumer.

What belongs to us

The site, its name, its design and its code belong to the publisher. Nothing here transfers any of that to you. The pieces you cut are another matter and stay yours, under the licence page.

Ending it

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We can close an account that breaks these rules, after telling you why, except where the breach is serious enough that waiting would make things worse.

Law and disputes

French law applies. If something goes wrong, write first, to [email protected]: most things are settled in an email.

A purchase is a contract with Stripe, not with us. Stripe is the seller of record, so anything about a payment, an invoice, a refund or a subscription is settled with Stripe, under the terms it showed you before you paid and through its own complaint route.

This page covers the use of the tool, which is not a sale. Using Split3D costs nothing and buys nothing, so there is no purchase here to take to a consumer mediator.
